It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such data. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal data about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.

Why are we doing this and how can you participate?

The Click Smart app provides you with a personalised news experience from the start. To use the Click smart app you will need to download this from the app store or android phone equivalent and create an account. You must be over 13 years old to create an account.

What will the Scolmore International collect and how will we use it?

Scolmore International will collect and process the personal data that you have provided to us about yourself. The Click Smart app uses technologies similar to cookies to collect data while you are using it. For example, Scolmore International will collect your user activity, what content you interact with and consume, and how you use the app. We use this data to provide you with a personalised experience, and to improve the Click Smart app.

The app only collects the following:

  • Registered Account Data: including email address, phone number, user name, and login credentials, nickname, country code, language preference or time zone information into account.
  • Feedback: including email address, mobile phone number and feedback content.
  • Mobile Device Information: including mobile device model number, IP address, wireless connection information, the type and version of the operating system, application version number, push notification identifier, log files, and mobile network information, software version number, the operating environment or to provide services, as well as information about the installed mobile applications and other software you use.
  • Usage Data: usage data relating to visits, clicks, downloads, messages sent/received, and other usage of our websites and Services.
  • Basic Information of Smart Devices: including device name, device ID, online status, activation time, firmware version, and upgrade information.
  • Information collected during the process of connecting to a Smart Device: Based on the type of Smart Device you need to connect, whether the Smart Device is connected via Wi-Fi, via Wi-Fi after establishing a local connection via Bluetooth, via Bluetooth or via Zigbee, we will collect the Mac address of the smart device. When a user deletes personal information (account), we will retain the following information to ensure that it would not be associated with the user's identity, and we would perform automatic deletion on a regular basis according to the data retention mechanism, specifically including the following categories:
  • For the content in user feedback, if there are pictures or videos submitted by the user, and the problem log is submitted, we keep it for further analysis of the problem and find the best solution.;
  • Log Information: including IP address, language preference setting, operating system version, date or time of access, so that we can facilitate and accurately identify problems and help users solve them in timely manner, log information will be removed after 7 days.
  • Information Reported by Smart Devices: for instance the video files will be stored only based on user's purchase plan.

Push notifications

If you choose to receive push notifications and in-app messages, Scolmore International will use selected data processors to process the personal data listed below on our behalf:

  • Device ID assigned to your device
  • You can opt out of push notifications by disabling them in your device settings.

Right to Erasure

In order to better realise the user's personal privacy rights, we provide the "delete account" function in the App. Users can find the entry to delete personal information (account) through the following paths:

Who is the Data Controller?

Scolmore International is the 'data controller' of your personal data. This means that Scolmore International decides what your personal data is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. For the avoidance of doubt, your personal data will be collected and processed solely for the purposes set out in this privacy notice. As the data controller, Scolmore International has the responsibility to comply, and to demonstrate compliance with, data protection law.

Lawful basis for processing your personal data

The legal basis on which Scolmore International processes your personal data is legitimate interests. When you use the Click Smart app, it is in our legitimate interests to:

  • Process your personal data to authenticate your Click Smart account
  • Allow you to access the app
  • Provide you with Click Smart content
  • Create and improve your personalised experience while using the app

We also provide access to images and videos relating to or products to enhance your purchasing options.

Sharing your information

We use third-party providers who process your data on our behalf to enable us to provide our services to you. When we transfer some limited personal information outside of the EEA, we make sure that our contracts include safeguards for the transfer of your personal information outside the EEA. The selected data processors have entered an appropriate contract, which ensures they only use your personal data on behalf of Scolmore International.

We will not share your personal data with any other third parties unless required or permissible by the law.

Retaining your information

Scolmore International follows a 3-year retention period for retention on deletion of your account.

Your rights and more information

You have rights under data protection law. You can request a copy of the personal data Scolmore International stores about you. You have the right to ask for the personal data we collect about you to be deleted however there are limitations and exceptions to this right which may entitle Scolmore International to refuse your request.

In certain circumstances, you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data or to object to the processing of your personal data.

You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal data to you or to another organisation, in certain circumstances.
