Due to ongoing expansion, Scolmore have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Distribution Sales Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for the sales growth of all Scolmore group products (Click, Elucian, Unicrimp, OVIA, ESP) through specialist non-retail distributors and distributors reaching into specialist sectors. Non-brand critical lighting specialist distributors are also key targets. Knowledge of the wider Scolmore group products and the ability to deal with customers at all levels to ensure products are listed, marketed and priced for the appropriate market.

Main Duties

Lead all sale activities with specialist distributors ensuring full consideration is given for the wide range of products available via the whole Scolmore group of companies.

Develop, communicate and measure against a robust sales plan for each customer / market.

The ability to forecast demand working in collaboration with key customers.

Quickly adapt to a dynamic marketplace led by legislation.

The ability to analyse sales performance data and introduce corrective actions when needed.

Negotiate long terms partner contracts with large corporations.

Successfully work across many Scolmore departments enlisting appropriate support when needed (marketing / technical / supply chain).

Manage budgets performance and expenditure.

Attend major industry events, conferences, trade shows, etc.

Continually improve product / market / customer / competitor knowledge to ensure we maintain a competitive advantage

Essential Skills and Experience

Wide and varied business experience: technical, marketing, commercial, sales. Into multiple industries and markets.

Ability to develop and deploy a coherent plan.

Must be able to work independently / remotely.

Ability to negotiate contracts & framework agreements.

Track record in growing long term partnerships / relationships

Ability to understand the market and the opportunity that then presents.

Strong commercial and analytical skills.

An understanding of product marketing.

Strong interpersonal skills.

An ability to report successes at board level.

Calm under pressure, whilst maintaining a positive energy.

The ability to plan to maximise customer facing time.

Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.

Well-versed in the latest software tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Phocas)
