An exciting opportunity for a Design Team Leader to work with the Technical Team within the ESP at The Scolmore Group. Reporting to the Technical Design Manager, the main purpose of this key role would be to lead the Design team, who are a key fundamental part of our business. CAD Experience essential to Design Drawings – Zone plans – Specifications.

A very much hands on role within the team, the ideal candidate would be someone who is experienced in construction techniques and BS standards with in depth knowledge of electrical, fire and security applications.

Main Duties

The role of our Design Team Leader is to support the Design Team and Lead the Design Inbox, must have knowledge on BS 5839-1 & BS 5839-6 & BS 7671 & CAD Experience. Designing Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting Drawings & specifications for proposals. This is very much a hands-on, diverse role and can be a challenging but exciting role that is key function of our business.

 Ownership of the Design inbox & Design tracker system.
 Design Layouts and specifications systems across Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Applications.
 Design layouts and production of system design layouts and technical specifications for access control, CCTV, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems
 Direct liaison with ASM, wholesaler and contractor in order to deliver a timely functional solution
 Collation of all relevant information to enable a compliant scheme to be designed
 Creation of innovative compliant design solutions
 Ability to effectively communicate with peers and other colleagues via e-mail, chat, telephone, and in person
 Maintaining a design register in accordance with Company requirements
 Design with focus on core technologies that are available from the ESP product portfolio
 Conducting site surveys in conjunction with an ASM
 Develop system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies.
 Transpose system designs into CAD drawings.
 Maintaining the Design Process under 5 days return policy.
 Organise Commissioning dates with the customer and our Commissioning Team.
 The successful Designer should have a strong technical and electrical background and previous experience in design of fire / emergency lighting / CCTV / Intruder / access control / Emergency voice systems.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone that has previous experience of working as a Design Team Leader that has extensive knowledge and experience of working within Electrical industry, with a focused attention to detail including knowledge of UK&I Current Building, BS and EN standards as appropriate

 Ability to demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines.
